We collect information from our customers, subcontractors and agents and prospective employees.
For customers, our primary purpose for collecting information is generally to provide the customer with packaging, storage, distribution or general freight and transport services. For subcontractors and agents, our primary purpose for collecting information is to assist us in providing our customers with high quality packaging, storage, distribution or general freight and transport services. For potential employees, our primary purpose for collecting information is to assess suitability for employment.
We may also use or disclose a customer’s personal information for another purpose such as to keep records of transactions to assist in future enquiries and enhance our relationship with the customer or to assess eligibility for credit. In the case of subcontractors and agents, we may use the subcontractor or agent’s personal information to conduct checks to ensure that the subcontractor and agent can perform the services to our standards, as part of our commitment to the safety of our transport operations or for payment purposes.
Our usual process of collecting personal information is to collect the personal information directly from the individual concerned. We may also collect personal information from other sources, such as from subcontractors and agents, trade references, employers, entities that conduct licence checks on our behalf, entities that conduct drug and alcohol testing or other medical testing on our behalf, doctors or other medical professionals who carry out health screening checks, use of an intelligent access program and on-board cameras installed in vehicles operated by us, the administrator of a warranty scheme (Freightwise), insurance providers and brokers and other entities within the Followmont group. In the case of customers, we will only collect the personal information from these other sources if it is necessary to provide you with the services.
We may disclose your personal information to other entities such as other subcontractors and agents, employers, entities that conduct licence checks for us, entities that provide drug and alcohol tests or other medical testing for us, government bodies (such as Centrelink), other service providers, other entities within the Followmont group, insurance providers and brokers, and our customers who require the information as part of their compliance procedures or systems or to meet legislative requirements.
We do not generally disclose your personal information to overseas recipients (except to a data entry provider in the Philippines and a cloud-based software provider that has backup data centres in the United States of America).
